Pokémon GO City Safari: Boston Update

Trainers,

Thank you for your patience as we navigated the severe weather that took place in the greater Boston area last weekend. Pokémon GO City Safari: Boston has been rescheduled, and it will now take place primarily as a global event exclusively for current ticket holders.

The wild encounters and event bonuses originally planned for City Safari: Boston will take place globally during the originally scheduled event hours (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in your local time zone) on October 24 and October 25, 2026. The Special Research that would have originally granted rewards related to Eevee wearing an explorer hat will instead be Timed Research that grants an encounter with Flabébé (Orange Flower), Hawlucha, Mudbray, and Komala along with the branching weekend bonuses.

Additionally, ticket holders will receive supplementary Special Research with tasks to spin PokéStops in Boston, which will award up to nine encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat that have a Boston Location Background. Qualifying Trainers will receive one Special Research opportunity per ticketed day. Trainers will have from October 24, 2026, through October 23, 2028, to log in and obtain the research anywhere in the world. There will be no Boston GO Stamp Rally as part of this gameplay experience.

Only current ticket holders will be able to experience any components of this event.

No action is required to keep your ticket and participate in the rescheduled City Safari: Boston event. However, Trainers who wish to request a refund of their tickets can do so by contacting in-app support before October 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Please note: Trainers who request a refund will not be able to participate in the rescheduled City Safari: Boston gameplay on October 24 and October 25, 2026.

All refund requests must be initiated by the person who purchased the ticket. Partial refunds cannot be issued, including for gifted tickets and add-ons. If you purchased multiple tickets and requested a refund, all tickets associated with your order will also be refunded, including any add-on purchases made by your group. These Trainers will not be able to participate in the rescheduled City Safari: Boston gameplay. Once a refund has been processed, there is no way to repurchase a ticket. No additional tickets for this event will be released at a later date.

Thank you again for your patience as we’ve navigated through this. We appreciate your continued passion for Pokémon GO!
