Pokémon GO partners with the European Space Agency

Get ready to blast off for adventure! Pokémon GO is teaming up with the European Space Agency (ESA) for a special celebration of space and exploration across Europe.

From October 4, 2026, to April 30, 2027, Trainers visiting participating science and space museums can discover special Pokémon GO gameplay inspired by the wonders of space, including encounters with Astronaut Pikachu!

Participating Museums

Special Pokémon GO gameplay will be available at the following locations.

  • Science Museum – London, England
  • Cité de l’espace – Toulouse, France
  • Deutsches Museum – Nuremberg, Germany
  • Museu de les Ciències – València, Spain
  • Space Expo – Noordwijk, Netherlands
  • Euro Space Center – Transinne, Belgium

Raids

Astronaut Pikachu will appear in one-star raids at the participating museums. Trainers who successfully complete these in-person raids will have the opportunity to catch Astronaut Pikachu* with a special Location Background commemorating their visit.

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Timed Research

Explore the museums anytime between October 4, 2026, and April 30, 2027, to unlock exciting Timed Research. Complete research tasks for rewards and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Some Pokémon encountered through Timed Research may have a special Location Background.

Field Research

From October 4 to October 10, 2026, spin PokéStops at participating museums to receive event-themed Field Research tasks. Complete those research tasks for rewards and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Some Pokémon encountered through Field Research may have a special Location Background.

Wild Encounters

Look to the skies, Trainers! From October 4 to October 10, 2026, these event-themed Pokémon will appear more frequently around participating locations.

  • Clefairy*
  • Magnemite*
  • Starmie*
  • Lunatone*
  • Solrock*
  • Elgyem*
  • Blipbug

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

ESA Locations

All the above gameplay, excluding Location Backgrounds, will be available at the following ESA locations across Europe from October 4 to October 10, 2026.

  • ESA HQ (Paris, France)
  • ESA ESRIN (close to Rome, at Frascati, Italy)
  • ESA ESOC (Darmstadt, Germany)
  • ESA ESAC (close to Madrid, Spain)
  • ESA ESTEC (Noordwijk, Netherlands)
  • ESA ESEC (close to Redu, Belgium)
  • ESA ECSAT (Harwell, UK)
