About the Program
The Community Ambassador Program supports local, in-person Pokémon GO communities around the globe by empowering their experiences. Community Ambassadors are Pokémon GO Trainers who receive special perks for their communities, like item codes and swag for giveaways, opportunities to offer feedback, and ongoing support to grow their local scene.
Trainers looking for the best places to play, dedicated rewards, and fellow Trainers to play with can find the best meetups through their local Community Ambassador.
Individuals who run in-person events in their area, grow their communities, and create and connect safe spaces for Trainers to play in can apply to become one of Pokémon GO’s Community Ambassadors.

Looking for somewhere to play with your local community while enjoying the fresh air during Community Day and other Pokémon GO events? Check out the map below for suggested play locations, including Community Ambassador meetups, Community Leader meetups, and popular parks.
The Pokémon GO Community Ambassador and Leader Programs support local, in-person Pokémon GO communities around the globe by empowering their experiences.
Community Campsites
Starting in 2025, all Pokémon GO communities with a Community Ambassador will eventually be able to establish their own Community Campsite.
Community Campsites are some of the best places to play Pokémon GO, with dedicated PokéStops, Gyms, and more to enjoy with fellow Trainers.
Community Play
Community Day
It’s in the name—Community Days are best with your local community! Share special times and Timed Research with others as you catch different featured Pokémon every month!
Raids
The new RSVP planner feature will also allow Trainers to schedule their raids ahead of time. You’ll be able to see how many other Trainers have also RSVP’d in advance for a specific raid and receive reminders before the raid begins. You can maximize your odds of winning more easily with your greater numbers!
Max Battles
Rally your community to take on Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon ina Max Battles! These Max Battles are Pokémon GO’s biggest challenges yet, and can only be won when enough Trainers unite as a team.
Provisioned Check-Ins
Check in to check out cool gifts! Earn rewards when you check in to a Community Ambassador event.
Trainers can receive thematic Timed Research with different in-game rewards based on the type of event!
Trainers can get access to special swag shared through their Community Ambassador.
Trainers who check in can also periodically receive a promo code for extra items with a Pokémon GO Web Store purchase.
For eight hours after checking in at a Community Ambassador event, Trainers can also enjoy the following.
Field Research tasks from PokéStops that lead to an encounter with one of dozens of different Pokémon. Can you catch them all?
3/4 Egg Hatch Distance when checked-in Trainers form a party together.
Party Challenges with special rewards, including a higher chance to encounter Tandemaus.

What steps do I need to take to become a Community Ambassador?
Trainers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong can apply to be a Community Ambassador.

Fill out the application below.

After an initial review of your application, you will be invited to join a community of applicants and continue with the vetting process.

After you’ve been added to the group, you must run at least four community events and submit a group photo of each event.

After those four events have occurred, we will conduct a final background check and a safety check of your community.

We want to help new and veteran Trainers alike find new groups to play with and explore the world of Pokémon GO together. We’ll continue to update this program as it grows, and we look forward to sharing more in the coming months.

Referral Program
Every journey is better with friends. So why not invite some of your friends to join yours?
Whether it’s your friend’s first time playing or they’re returning after a break, they’ll receive rewards like Pokémon encounters, Rare Candy, Incubators, and more as they hit milestones on their adventure—and so will you!
How to refer a friend
Go to the Friends screen and tap Invite to get your referral code.
Share that code with a friend who’s new to Pokémon GO or who hasn’t played in at least 90 days.
Once they input your referral code—either during the sign-up process or later on the Friends screen—you’ll both begin receiving rewards.
As your friend reaches milestones on their journey, you’ll both receive more rewards. Make sure to help them out along the way!
