Rally with Trainers around the world for the mega conclusion of Pokémon GO Fest 2026! Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale brings a full week of Mega Evolution–themed gameplay, a choose-your-path GO Pass, rotating habitats, and powerful Mega Raids to Trainers everywhere.
During the lead-up and the main event weekend, Trainers can choose Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie to begin a Mega Evolution–focused journey leading to Mega Evolving them into Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, or Mega Greninja.
Then, during the Mega Finale weekend, challenge Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raids to collect Mewtwo with a Special Background!
Highlights
Choose your Kalos first partner Pokémon and prepare for the Mega Finale!
Start your journey by completing branching Timed Research where you can choose Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. Complete this Timed Research to get GO Pass: Mega Finale, which will include rewards to help you Mega Evolve the Pokémon you chose!
Check out the schedule!
Plan ahead for Saturday’s Mega Mewtwo X raids and Sunday’s Mega Mewtwo Y raids, and check the habitat schedule so you know when your favorite Pokémon and Mega Raid Bosses will appear.
Find your community!
You don’t have to take on the Mega Finale alone. Find your community to rally fellow Trainers, plan raids, and make the most of the event. Mega Mewtwo and rotating Mega Raid Bosses will be waiting, so gather your raid group and get ready!
Exciting Gameplay
Mega Mewtwo Returns!
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y will headline Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale Super Mega Raids.

New Special Backgrounds!
Pokémon caught from Mega Raids during the Mega Ascension event and Mega Finale weekend may have a Mega Evolution–themed Special Background.
Starting during the Mega Ascension event, when a Pokémon with a Mega Evolution–themed Special Background is Mega Evolved, its background will have additional effects for the duration of the Mega Evolution.
New Avatar Items
Kalos first partner Pokémon–inspired avatar shirts will be available through GO Pass Deluxe: Mega Finale. The shirt you receive will match the Kalos first partner Pokémon you choose at the beginning of your Mega Finale Timed Research.
  • Chesnaught T-Shirt

  • Delphox T-Shirt

  • Greninja T-Shirt

Choose your Kalos first partner Pokémon
A branching Timed Research story will have Trainers choose Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie. Your choice determines which GO Pass: Mega Finale rewards you receive and which Kalos first partner Pokémon Mega Evolution rewards you’ll work toward.
TIP: The free GO Pass: Mega Finale includes enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve your chosen partner once. Trainers who upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe can earn enough additional Mega Energy to raise their chosen partner’s Mega Level.
Chespin
Type: Grass
The quills on its head are usually soft. When it flexes them, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock.
Mega Chesnaught
Type: Grass/Fighting
It has fortified armor and a will to defend at all costs. Both are absurdly strong.
Fennekin
Type: Fire
Eating a twig fills it with energy, and its roomy ears give vent to air hotter than 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mega Delphox
Type: Fire/Psychic
It wields flaming branches to dazzle its opponents before incinerating them with a huge fireball.
Froakie
Type: Water
It secretes flexible bubbles from its chest and back. The bubbles reduce the damage it would otherwise take when attacked.
Mega Greninja
Type: Water/Dark
This Pokémon spins a giant shuriken at high speed to make it float, then clings to it upside down to catch opponents unawares.
Mega FinaleSeptember 5 and 6, 2026 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time

  • Pokémon caught from Mega Raids during the event may have a Mega Evolution–themed Special Background.
