Choose Your Path with new Timed Research and updates to Daily Discoveries!

Choose Your Path Timed Research

Choose Your Path Timed Research is a new way to play during non-event weeks giving you the freedom to explore Pokémon GO your way!

During a Choose Your Path Timed Research week, you’ll be able to select one of three paths: Explore, Catch, or Battle. Your choice will shape the Timed Research tasks and bonuses throughout the week.

You may have different research opportunities than other Trainers.

Choose Your Path Timed Research Schedule

Choose Your Path Timed Research opportunities will be available during the following non-event weeks in Pokémon GO this Season. All listed times are local.

Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun

  • From Wednesday, June 17, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, June 21, at 8:00 p.m.

Choose Your Path: Charged Embers

  • From Tuesday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, July 3, at 8:00 p.m.

Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail

  • From Tuesday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 3, at 8:00 p.m.

Choose Your Path: Venom and Vines

  • From Tuesday, August 11, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 17, at 8:00 p.m.

Updates to Daily Discoveries

Continuing in Forever Forward, different days of the week will include a Daily Discovery experience. These will be active between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. local time unless otherwise stated. Starting Monday, June 15, these are the updated bonuses for Forever Forward.

Max Monday

  • One Rare Candy XL for completing in-person Max Battles.
  • Power Spots will refresh more frequently.
  • Additional Power Spots will be active on Mondays compared to the rest of the week.
  • Max Battles will rotate to feature different Dynamax Pokémon.

Showcase Tuesday

  • Trainers can enter up to five PokéStop Showcases.
  • More PokéStops may have PokéStop Showcases.

Wednesday Raid Hour

  • One Rare Candy XL for completing in-person Raid Battles.

GO Battle Thursdays and Spotlight Hour

  • Spotlight Hour will return from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

Friendship Friday

  • Up to two additional Special Trades.
  • Trades will require 20% less Stardust.

Scenic Sunday

  • More Pokémon will appear in the wild!
  • More Pokémon will appear while following a Route. Incense will attract even more Pokémon on Routes.
  • Reduced distance to earn Buddy Candy while exploring Routes with your Buddy Pokémon.
  • Encounter Mateo up to three times each day while on a Route.

Daily Discoveries may change as we experiment with how to make the best experience. We appreciate the support of communities as we continue updating Daily Discoveries.

  • 2× XP for catching Pokémon.

Thursday, July 23
Eevee*

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.

Thursday, July 30
Bidoof*

  • 2× Candy for transferring Pokémon.

*You may encounter a Shiny one—if you’re lucky!
