More updates to the Mega Evolution system are coming throughout this year!

As part of this update, you will be able to use Mega Energy to quickly increase your Pokémon’s Mega Level for all levels! The amount of Mega Energy required to level up will depend on how many times you’ve Mega Evolved that Pokémon—the more times you’ve Mega Evolved it, the less Mega Energy it will cost!

Super Mega Raids will take great teamwork and may only appear at certain Gyms, so we’re making it easier to find nearby Gyms, Power Spots, and more using a new web-based map.

You can visit pokemongo.com/map to see the locations where Super Mega Raids might appear during an event, in addition to those in progress. You can also filter the map to show nearby community meetups days in advance, allowing you to plan more seamlessly.

If you’ve never attended a meetup before, Super Mega Raids are a great reason to go out and meet your local community of Trainers for the first time!

Community Ambassadors receive support from Niantic to run Pokémon GO events for their communities. If there are no Community Ambassadors near you, you can also search for and find the meetups closest to you.

Coordinate more easily with friends, family, and other Trainers in your community, and raise the odds of success in battle together!

• Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Friday, May 22, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
• Receive up to six free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
• Increased chance of encountering Shiny Falinks from Super Mega Raids.

Timed Research will be available to Trainers during the event! Complete the research tasks to earn a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Mawile.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before the Timed Research ends.

For US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you can purchase a ticket that grants the following bonuses.

• Receive up to 14 free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
• Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles.
• An additional 5,000 XP from Super Mega Raid Battles.
• An additional 5,000 Stardust from Super Mega Raid Battles.

These bonuses will be effective on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
